Pierre Ferrand Curacao traces its roots to the late 20th century under the Maison Ferrand umbrella, the same visionary French house behind Pierre Ferrand Cognac. Maison Ferrand itself was founded in 1989 by master blender Alexandre Gabriel, who revived and reinvented classic French spirits by drawing on centuries-old techniques and historical recipes.  With a passion for historical mixology and authentic flavours, Gabriel collaborated with renowned cocktail historian David Wondrich to recreate a traditional dry Curaçao inspired by the rich, bittersweet orange liqueurs of the 19th century.

Pierre Ferrand Curacao celebrates the classic spirit of citrus liqueurs by combining time-honoured methods with French craft. Instead of relying on modern shortcuts, the liqueur is made by macerating bitter Curaçao orange peels, vanilla, spices and other botanicals in unaged brandy, before redistilling and marrying the distillate with aged brandy and Pierre Ferrand Cognac, and finally ageing in oak casks for added depth.  This meticulous process yields a complex, balanced dry orange liqueur that offers both the vibrant brightness of citrus and the warm nuance of cognac — a profile that evokes the golden age of classic cocktails.

Today, Pierre Ferrand Curacao stands as a refined and essential expression in the world of fine spirits. Whether used to elevate timeless cocktails like the Sidecar, Mai Tai, or Pegu Club, or enjoyed on its own to appreciate its layered citrus and spice notes, Pierre Ferrand Curacao brings historical authenticity and contemporary elegance to any glass
